Take the Pledge Nebraska
Distracted drivers cause more than 100 crashes in Nebraska each year—they can be avoided though
Here's how:
As mobile devices become increasingly universal, their presence in many different aspects of our lives becomes more common as well. When they enter your car, however, your phone can become dangerous and unfortunately, sometimes lethal.
For our young drivers in Nebraska, distracted driving can be especially risky. While still developing driving habits, the temptation of a cell phone prevents teens from giving the proper attention to the road to stay safe. More importantly, it's illegal—novice drivers under 18 with a learner's permit or intermediate license are prohibited from using a cell phone, hands-free or not. For more information, click here.
And while Kirby Roth Insurance works every day to host a reliable auto insurance program, we want our customers to avoid having to use that safety net. Which is why we are asking our customers of all ages to join us in Taking the Pledge. Below is a downloadable contract, courtesy of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We encourage you to discuss the implications and potential consequences of driving while distracted by a mobile device with your close friends, family, and loved ones. Next, design guidelines for the safe role phones play in your driving habits. Lastly, print and sign the contract as an outward reminder of these promises.
